Welcome to Simology!

I‘m about to age myself but I figure once you become the mom of fraternal twins, there really is no going back, so admittedly I’ve been playing the Sims since the first iteration; when it was owned and developed solely by Maxis and Electronic Arts wasn’t even a blip on it’s radar. So due to that fact, I’d say I have fairly good knowledge of the Sims or in this case, the study of them. My original Sims website started with the name Simbolical, I was desperate, if it wasn’t obvious, to find clever play on words or in my case, a word, for my website. But if I’m completely honest, it never really appealed to me. A few years, later, okay, more than half a decade later, and here I am with a new iteration of my website, with a name that actually bears meaning: Welcome to Simology- the study of all things Sims.

My goals for this website are simple. I hope to journal my families, while also working on my building skills and sharing said builds with anyone who takes the time to stop by and visit. When it comes to CAS, I’d rate my skills on a scale of 1-10, around 7-8, as that was namely my focus several years ago. As far as building, well, let’s just say I’m learning and hope that I’ll be able to grow those skills as I journey into new territory.

For the time being this website is likely to host namely Sims 3 content. The reason for that is simple, I already have a bunch of the mods and custom content for Sims 3 and none presently for Sims 4. Eventually, when time allows, I’ll start hunting down custom content and mods for the Sims 4, though given what I feel is a crippled game, most of my gameplay is bound to remain in Sims 3. It’s a superior experience, in my opinion, and I just feel like EA took short cuts with Sims 4, diminishing a lot of the customization and creativity that you can find in the Sims 3. Still, I recognize that there are many who have moved on to Sims 4 and admittedly I do own the game, including all the stuff, game, and expansion packs, excluding the most recent, so I’d be doing not only myself but the community a disservice, if I didn’t also include Sims 4 content.

In the meantime, feel free to explore our community and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, check our our social media presence and join our Discord community, it’s a great way to find others who also like to play with life, I mean, what exactly do you have to lose?
